Kear is a Métis-Chinese professional who has been walking in multiple worlds since he was born. His father is Métis and his mother a Chinese immigrant from Hong Kong. He grew up in Treaty Four Territory in Regina, Saskatchewan, and holds both undergraduate and Master of Applied Science degrees in Civil Engineering. Kear merges education, personal, and professional experience with a solutions-based lens, with extensive experience building partnerships between industry and Indigenous communities. He uses a collaborative approach to bolster Indigenization and engagement across disciplines, finding unique and effective solutions for his clients. Combining professional training with his perspectives and network, Kear supports innovative projects pushing the limits of Indigenization in industry. He also serves on the board of the Métis Nation of Greater Victoria, representing Métis people across lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territories.
