Since 2015, the Ecostar Awards has brought together over 1,400 community members and celebrated more than 360 businesses and organizations, becoming a key Island event that fosters connections, showcases leadership, and encourages idea-sharing among businesses, academia, government, community groups, non-profits, and Indigenous communities.

Yes! If you have previously won, be sure to clearly state the progress of existing initiatives or new initiatives introduced since winning your last Ecostar Award. What makes this year’s application different?

Yes, you can apply for up to two awards. Please submit a separate application for each category and clearly explain why your organization is applying for that specific award.

Give yourself enough time to complete your submission. Most businesses take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to complete their application.

Applications are reviewed by an external panel of judges who score submissions on a scale of 1–10 based on the following criteria: clarity, award alignment, impact, degree of innovation, and justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Yes! If your sustainability initiatives include specific dates, partners, stakeholders, results, or measurable outcomes, be sure to include them in your responses. These details will help strengthen your application.
